VISION

SOGO BUSSAN GROUP

Committed to Building Communities

Even by opening a single store, an owner becomes a key player in shaping the city.
The beauty of a town is born from the passion and care that each owner brings to their place.
Since our founding,
we have continually reflected on the mission and responsibility of being a company engaged in real estate.
From that reflection emerged a guiding principle;
to be rooted in the community.

Rather than building and selling properties only to move on to the next city “hit-and-run” approach,
we commit ourselves to a place once we decide, “This is where we belong.” By staying, we accumulate wisdom that helps us truly understand the character of the area.
Over time, we gain insights and capabilities that only long-term engagement can reveal.

Opening a store is, in itself, a step toward shaping the future of a town.
And it is the heartfelt dedication of each owner that nurtures the city’s beauty.
We will continue to live alongside the city through our buildings—addressing local social challenges and striving to enrich the community through our presence.

Message from the President

Building Cities — and our People — that Embrace Change

Since our founding in 1963, we have dedicated ourselves to the creation of cities through architecture — shaping communities and enriching lives through the buildings we develop.

From Japan’s period of rapid economic growth to a mature society that now celebrates diversity, cities have continually evolved — reflecting the ever-changing values and lifestyles of the people who live within them.

In collaboration with Hyatt, a global icon of hospitality, we opened Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay in Urayasu, Chiba. This milestone — bringing to life one of the world’s most beloved hotel brands — marks a new chapter in our history of city-making. It embodies our belief that global partnerships can enhance the cultural and social fabric of local communities.

t the same time, our enduring commitment remains in empowering our people. We believe that each employee’s willingness to learn, challenge conventions, and pursue new possibilities is what leads to innovation in how cities are built and experienced.

It is people’s passion that truly enriches a city. Nurturing that passion — fostering individuals who think boldly and act with purpose — continues to be one of our most important missions.
